Zachary Royer Scholz
Zachary Royer Scholz is an internationally exhibited artist based in San Francisco California. Scholz received his BA from Stanford University and holds a MFA in Painting & Drawing and a MA in Visual & Critical Studies from The California College of the Arts. His diverse artworks use sculpture, installation, drawing, video, and photography to investigate, situational potentials, institutional invisibility, and the fluid relationship between material and meaning. In addition to his art practice, Scholz is an active art critic, a regular Art Practical contributor, a sometime curator, and the author of numerous catalog essays. Scholz has received various awards and residencies, most recently a 2011 Kala Art Institute Fellowship and a 2012 residency at Headlands Center for The Arts. His work is held in the permanent collections of Recology in San Francisco, Indiana State University, and Mess Hall’s Printed Materials Archive in Chicago. He is represented by Eli Ridgway Gallery.
