Marisa Pushee
Marisa Pushee is an Oakland-based artist, activist and writer. A native of Massachusetts, Marisa received her BA from Hampshire College where she studied studio arts, cultural anthropology and human-animal relations. Currently pursuing an MA in Visual and Critical Studies at CCA, her work focuses on the role of nonhuman animals in visual culture. Marisa’s interests lie in animal liberation, prison abolition/prisoner support, social justice, wildlife rehabilitation/sanctuary, interspecies communication and art education.
